You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

Cape Cod is famous for its seafood and sandy beaches, but this peninsula is also steeped in history. Indigenous peoples have lived, farmed, and fished here for thousands of years and the Cape stakes its claim as the location where the Pilgrims first made landfall in November 1620. Each of Barnstable County's 15 towns contributes to the unique character of the Cape, which is key to its identity, quality of life, and economic vitality.

Mission

Historic Cape Cod (HCC) endeavors to be a cornerstone for preservation and advocacy, championing the intrinsic value and historical significance of Cape Cod. This includes the Cape's globally acclaimed architecture, picturesque waterfronts, breathtaking landscapes, numerous collections, and cultural traditions. Central to HCC's mission is cultivating a vibrant community spirit, engaging individuals of all ages to actively contribute to the safeguarding and storytelling of Cape Cod's rich and diverse history.
